Teaching Portfolio

Since the very beginning of my career as an architect, I have been deeply involved in the teaching of architecture. As I explain in my statement of teaching philosophy, I bring to my teaching the experience gained from practice and, conversely, I bring back to my practice what I learn from working with students.

When it comes to practice-based teaching, my work with students takes place within three main areas: First, I teach theory seminars that focus on the practice of architecture, and that regularly involve field visits. Second, I advise community service and other field-based theses that have a social focus. Third, I teach service learning and other courses involving fieldwork both in the United States and abroad.
